How are Emergency Room wait times calculated?

Wait times for our Emergency Departments reflect the time it takes from when a patient arrives to when the patient is first seen by one of our medical professionals. The wait times seen here are practically in real time as they are refreshed approximately every 15 minutes.

Please be aware that various circumstances affect wait times, including the volume of patients who arrive by ambulance as well as the severity of the injury or illness for which a patient presents. That means patients who arrive with life-threatening conditions will be seen before those who arrive with less-serious problems or ailments.

NOTE: The wait times listed are for informational purposes only and therefore cannot be guaranteed. In other words, they are subject to change without notice. If the screen is displaying “N/A,” that simply means the wait time is unavailable due to system updates or other reasons and will be refreshed as soon as possible.
